2011 Book List
As December is quickly winding down I don't think I will make 25 books read in 2011 but it is very close. I am hoping to finish my currently reading book this year but things tend to get crazy for me from now through Christmas so we'll see. Anyway, onto the list...

Read

1. House of Rules by Jodi Picoult. (Started in 2010 but finished in 2011)

2. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

3. Linger by Maggie Stiefvater

4. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

5. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

6. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

7. Matched by Ally Condie

8. Tangerine by Edward Bloor. This is a re-read of a book that I bought back when we first moved to Florida.

9. Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen – this is a re-read of a favorite book.

10. Wither by Lauren DeStefano

11. Divergent by Veronica Roth

12. Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer

13. These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf

14. The Irresistible Henry House by Lisa Grunwald

15. Ballad: A Gathering of Faerie by Maggie Stiefvater

16. Forever by Maggie Stiefvater

17. The Runaway Jury by John Grisham

18.Trapped by Michael

19.Lament: The Faerie Queen’s Deception by Maggie Stiefvater

20. The Help by Kathryn Stockett

21. Two Kisses for Maddy by Matt Logelin

22. Percy Jackson and the Olympians – The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan - Scooby is reading this series so I thought I should check it out as well. I actually liked this book quite a bit. It is not even close to the movie which kind of surprised me but was still enjoyable. Scooby has moved onto the second book. I moved onto The Scorpio Races.

23. The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater - I really like Maggie Stiefvater. Her books tend to quickly pull me into the story and this one was no different. The only thing I did not like - and don't like in general - is the amount of animals hurt/killed in this book. This is always something that bothers me - and yes I know they are fictional animals but it is really a subject that just gets me. I knew when I picked up the book that some of these scenes would be a necessity in telling the story but ... ugh! Anyway, putting that major hurdle for me aside the book was awesome and I really loved the characters, the storyline, and the ending.

Currently Reading
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson - Jack the Ripper in modern day London meets a New Orleans teen spending a year at boarding school right off Whitechapel Road. I had intended to read this after Crossed but I picked up the sample, quickly read it, and purchased it so I decided to just go ahead and read it first.

Next Up
Crossed by Ally Condie

Taking a break from
Fallen by Lauren Kate

Want to Read (not a complete list and dwindling as the year winds down)
The Radleys by Matt Haig

The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen

The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen

...and many more...

Well done. I've almost totally stopped reading and am writing instead. It's very odd after all the books I ploughed through. It's like I can only do one. Oh well.

Yeah I can relate. When I am writing a lot I tend to stop reading. Then recently I just went on a computer hiatus in general which put a stop to all the writing but I wasn't reading either so I am happy to be reading again and I actually managed to finish up another story in the series that chaoticprose and I write so that makes me happy. :)

Yay for the happy! :) I'm still just scared I'll stop writing again, so not touching the books.

Can't blame you there. :)

Very cool!

I didn't know you had finished The Scorpio Races. I really loved that book! I think it was her best yet. :)

I'm definitely curious to read Crossed, and I'm sure that will be on my list for next year. Sounds like you read some really interesting books. I will probably put some on my next year list along with Crossed. :)
